Alfred L. Fritz Kimmet, 96, formerly of Gibsonburg, died on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at St. Charles Hospital, Oregon. He was born on May 9, 1911 in Bascom, OH to the now deceased George and Loretta (Sendelbach) Kimmet. On May 9, 1936 he married Evelyn C. Smith at St. Marys Catholic Church in Tiffin and she died November 15, 1997. Fritz had worked as a Kiln Burner Foreman at the J.E. Baker Company in Millersville until retiring. He was a previous member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg and a current member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Genoa. Fritz served as an usher and a senior server at church; he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Surviving are children, Kathleen (Dennis) Kruse of Genoa, LaDonna (Roger) Lenke of Fairborn, Richard (Sherry) Kimmet of Simi Valley, CA and Ronald (Grace) Kimmet of Gibsonburg; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings Ralph, Jerome, Norbert, Oliver Kimmet, Margarite Boes and Genevieve Holman; 1 grandson and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 14 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Gibsonburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church or to Hospice of NW Ohio in Fritzs memory.
