Velma Elberta Krotzer

Velma E. Krotzer, age 87, formerly of Gibsonburg, died Saturday evening, August 20, 2005, at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville. She was born in Woodville, on August 12, 1918 to Fred and Anna (Garling) Reimer and graduated from Woodville High School in 1936. Mrs. Krotzer a Homemaker, was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, The Gibsonburg Womans Federation, past president of the Welker-Smith American Legion Auxiliary, Post 17, in Gibsonburg, past president of the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and was the organist at First English Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg for may years. On March 12, 1947, she married Albert Oppie Krotzer in Woodville, Ohio. He died on December 10,1996. Surviving Velma is one daughter, Barbara (Peter) Straube of Toledo, and one son, James (Sheryl) Krotzer of Gibsonburg; two grandchildren, Jamie (Bo) Evarts and Bradley Krotzer; one great-grandchild Alexa. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, sister, Nelda Schepman, and brother, Emery Reimer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, where the body will lie in state from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department, Gibsonburg American Legion Auxiliary Post 17, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, (Piano Fund) Gibsonburg, or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
