Hazel I. Kruse

Hazel I. Kruse, 95, formerly of Gibsonburg, died early Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Genoa Care Center, Genoa. She was born on April 30, 1914 to Henry and Carrie (Schwamberger) Swartz in Lime City, OH. Hazel married Edward Kruse and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1979. She was a waitress and cook at Zips Cafeteria in Woodville in the 1950s & 60s and a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Hazel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge.

Surviving are daughter, Delores "Dee" (Ed) Herman of Gibsonburg and son, James Jim (Theresa) Kruse of Woodville, ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter; Janet Ann Kruse, sons, Richard & Ronald Kruse; brothers, Harry & Willie; sisters, Mabel Hoddlebrink, Pearl Kruse & Katie Dalling; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 3-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Pastor Daniel Beaudoin will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or to Genoa Care Center.
