Lauretta N. Lamalie, 93 of Fremont, died early Thursday morning at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on August 20, 1912 in Toledo to Reuben and Minnie (Diekman) Schmidlin. On November 24, 1932 she married Calvin Lamalie, and he died on July 8, 1989. Lauretta was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsway and the Women of the Church, the Kingsway Happy Larks Farm Council and enjoyed playing cards and gardening.
Surviving is son, Ed (Laura) Lamalie of Fremont; daughter, Sandy (Bob) Kessler of Clyde; grandchildren: Bill (Lisa) Lamalie, Sharon (Bob) Lagrou, Traci (Mark) Roach, Neal (Dawn) Kessler, and 12 great grandchildren.
Preceding Lauretta in death are her parents, husband, brothers Irvin and Norman Schmidlin, sisters Edna Smith and Ethel Kiser.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsway at 10 a.m. with Pastor Daryl Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
