Janet Lenore Leid, 78, of Gibsonburg, died Saturday afternoon at her home. She was born on September 16, 1928 in Fremont, OH to the now deceased Paul and Pearl (Inks) Saam. Janet was a 1946 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On September 16, 1947 she married Donald Leid in Hessville and he died February 10, 1995. Janet was a bookkeeper and sales clerk for Pauls Hardware in Gibsonburg, and prior to this the former Gordon Lumber Company in Gibsonburg. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, The American Legion Aux. # 17, Order of Eastern Star, serving as Past Matron in 1964, Past Deputy Grand Matron of the Fifth District, Past District # 5 President. and the G. V. F. D. Auxiliary. Surviving are daughters, Pamela Leid of Fremont, Barbara (Jeff) Aldrich of Gibsonburg and Special Daughter Frances (Lupe) Castillo, of Gibsonburg; two brothers, Loren (Bernice) Saam of Woodville, and Gordon (Jackie) Saam of Fremont; one sister, Wanda (Charles) Soule of Clyde; six grandchildren, Steve Leid, Fremont, Robert (Kelli) Castillo, Pataskala, OH, David (Tami) Castillo, Gibsonburg, Mathew Castillo, Gibsonburg, Jeff Aldrich II, Sandusky, and Jaclyn Aldrich, Summerville, SC; three great grandchildren, Jamison and Lindsey Castillo, both of Pataskala, and Caleb Castillo of Gibsonburg. Her parents, husband, son Steven in 1957 and a granddaughter, Victoria Castillo, precede her in death. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 2 4 & 6 9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Rev. Eric Schwochow will be officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: First English Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg Library, or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
