Joyce E. Lenz, 69, of Fremont, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Cleveland Metro Hospital, Cleveland. She was born on September 7, 1940 in Fremont to Lester and Ruby (Thorp) Polter. Joyce was a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School. On September 27, 1958 she married Richard Lenz at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Clyde and he survives. She was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the Church Circle. Joyce worked at Heinz in the lab as a lab tech and was head bench chemist at Pioneer Sugar Mill. She was active as den mother for Cub Scouts and was also active with Girl Scouts, she loved sewing, reading and crafts. Joyce was a very kind person who always had a smile and she loved the Cleveland Indians. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family always came first.

Surviving are children, Mark (Jolette) Lenz of Clarksville, TN, Melinda (Richard) Veler of Clyde, Michael (Barbara) Lenz and Marie Lenz both of Fremont; grandchildren, Matthew (Donna) Lenz of Ashville, NC, David Lenz of Clarksville, TN, Ashley (Justin) Ayers of Charleston, SC, Brittiny Wulf of Columbia, SC, Colton Veler of Clyde, Coty Perkins and Lila Lenz of Fremont; sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Mauk of Fremont and Roxanna (Richard) Smith of Lindsey along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Fremont. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon at church with Pastor Dan Sander officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the Diabetes Association or to the Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund c/o the United Way of Sandusky County, Inc., 826 W. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
