Ray A. Linder 87, of Fremont died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 peacefully at his home. He was born on July 23, 1922 in Fremont to Frederick and Stella (Schied) Linder. Ray graduated from Fremont Ross High School and the Toledo Barber College. On December 14, 1946 he married Kathryn M. Beckman at Grace Lutheran Church and she survives. Ray was the owner of Linders Barber Shop until retiring in July of 1987. He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Fellowship Group and the church choir for 25 years. Ray also delivered meals for 21 years for Memorial Hospital Mobile Meals, was a driver for the Bauman Auto Group, played on the Plaza Seniors Bowling League and the Seniors Golf League. He was a member of the Elks #169.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Dan (Janice) Linder of Fremont; granddaughter, Christy A. Linder of Van Nuys, CA; sister, Inez Friedley of Bowling Green and a brother, Pastor Lloyd H. Linder of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ervin, Willis, Howard, Clair, Luther, Floyd & Myron; and a sister, Pauline Tooman.
Services will be at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9-11 a.m. at church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Endowment Fund or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
