Earl W. Longanbach, 90, Fremont died early Monday morning at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on March 25, 1915 in Kingsway to Charles and Elta (Tindall) Longanbach. Earl was a lifelong farmer. On October 9, 1937 he married Olive Rosenberger and she survives. Earl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsway, Farmer of the Year, Fremont Pickle & Tomato Growers, the Soil & Water Conservation District, the Advisory Council, Kingsway Happy Larks, the Farm Bureau, and Pork Producers. He was a past member of Agri Leaders, the Sugar Beet Growers; past director of Rural Serv. Inc., Honorary Chapter Farmer of Fremont FFA, and past Chairman of Soil & Water Conservation District. Earl was a former Sandusky Twp. Trustee, 4-H Advisor to the Trail Blazers for 35 years, he was on the Board of Directors at Routh Packing Co. and a Swine Judge at fairs. Earl enjoyed playing dartball, bowling and cards. He also worked many years at T-Jays Farm Market.
Surviving Earl are children, Larry (Connie) Longanbach and Sandy (Tom) Overmyer, of Fremont; grandchildren, Terri (David) Sattler, of Arcadia, Kimberly (Paul) Elfring, Clyde, Christie (Dean) Schneider, Fremont, Jodi (Harley Jr.) Kiser, Helena, Michael (Kathy) Longanbach, Fremont, Chad (Wendy) Overmyer, Fremont and Wendy Todd, Fremont; 17 great-grandchildren and sister Evelyn Stiger, Fremont.
Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Franklin.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 13 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WSOS Meals on Wheels or Bethesda Care Center in Earls memory.
