Olive Longanbach

Olive Longanbach, 93, of Fremont died on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. She was born on September 19, 1915 in Fremont to Oliver and Luella (Atwater) Rosenberger. Olive was a 1934 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On October 9, 1937 she married Earl (John) W. Longanbach at Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2005.

Olive worked many jobs including the S.E. Heyman company, Christy Farms, T. Jays Produce and was a loving housewife and farmer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsway. Olive was involved in many organizations including Bide-a-Wee Farm Womens Club for 50 years, Mothers Study Club, Sandusky Twp. Homemakers Club, Card Club, YMCA Bowling League, Countywide Garden Club, Kingsway Happy Larks Council and Farm Bureau. She was a 4-H advisor for the Trailblazers for 23 years, and was an adviser for the Morning Glories Jr. Garden Club.

Surviving are daughter, Sandy Overmyer, daughter-in-law, Connie Longanbach, sister-in-law Evelyn Stiger, 7 grandchildren; Terri (David) Sattler, of Arcadia, Kimberly (Paul) Elfring, Clyde, Christie (Dean) Schneider, Fremont, Jodi Kiser, Helena, Michael (Kathy) Longanbach, Fremont, Chad (Wendy) Overmyer, Fremont and Wendy (Brian Beaverson)Todd, Fremont and 18 great-grandchildren; Stacy (Matt) Schimmoeller, Josh, Jordan, Seth and Olivia Sattler, Brad, Kyle and Kay Elfring, Stephanie, Alexis, McKenzie and Garrett Schneider, Makayla and Mariah Kiser, Whitney, Cassie and Chase Overmyer, and Kiara Crawford. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Larry; son-in-law, Tom Overmyer; siblings, Earl Rosenberger, Robert Rosenberger, Lon Rosenberger and an infant sister Janet Rosenberger.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Goossens, chaplain officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or to Dr. Grubb Cardiology Research Fund.
