Byron Buck Jerome Madden, 78, of Fremont, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. He was born on April 11, 1931 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Joseph and Rose (Ludwig) Madden Sr. Byron was a 1949 graduate of Fostoria High School. Mr. Madden enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18. He served aboard the USS Hyades AF-28 manning the radar, being deployed to Greece and France. On October 13, 1956, he married Joan Miller and they later divorced. His former employers were Norfolk/Southern Railroad, Whirlpool Corporation, Clyde and later he retired in 1987 from the army tank plant (Chrysler) as an industrial electrician. Byron was an avid member of the Eagles club, VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed taking long drives in and around the Fremont area.
Byron is survived by daughters, Lana L. (Dale) Rose of Wayne, Lisa L. (Ron) Davenport and Kathleen (Randy) Huff both of Fremont; son, Michael Madden of Horn Lake, MS; grandchildren, Larry III and Lee Riehl, Elizabeth Effinger, Emily Davenport, Cole, Quinn and Autumn Huff; great-grandson, Larry Riehl IV; sisters, Mary Ellen Shively of Findlay, OH and Lorraine Rene Rozkrut; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Teresa G. Rearick, Joseph A. Madden Jr., Dorothy A Cardwell, Donald L. Madden and James Madden..
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Four Mile House Cemetery with Certified Celebrant, Maureen Pump officiating.
