Mary Elizabeth Magsig

August 11, 1918 — January 29, 2007

Mary Elizabeth Magsig, 88 formerly of Lindsey, died early Monday morning at Baptist Home East in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Magsig was born in Sandusky County to Fred and Florence (Hellwig) Dunmyer. She was married in Fremont on May 31, 1941 to Clayton E. Magsig who died on April 17, 1986. A graduate of Harris-Elmore High School, Mary received a Bachelors Degree from Bowling Green State University in Elementary Education. She taught for 30 years in the Fremont Public Schools, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Magsig was an active member of the Sandusky County and Ohio Retired Teachers Association, the Buckaroo Farm Bureau Council, the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Friendship Class, the United Methodist Womens Spreng Memorial Circle and several bridge clubs. Surviving is a son, Robert Magsig of Louisville, KY; daughters, Debra Sanders of Biloxi, MS and Leona Scholz of Baden Baden, Germany; four grandchildren; a brother, Elwood Dunmyer of Elmore and Orchard Villa, Oregon and a sister, Geraldine Olson of Eagle River, AK.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey where her body will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Pastor Todd Gates will officiate. Burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery.
