Lola P. Mattoon, 95 of Fremont, died Tuesday afternoon at her home. She was born on December 14, 1909 in Chenoa, IL to George William and Mary Etta (Yarke) Hepperly. On March 19, 1930 she married Robert Eugene Mattoon and he died in 1968. Lola was a seamstress for S.E. Hyman Co. and a homemaker. She was a member of the Fremont Baptist Temple, AARP and the Ramblin-Retirees. Lola enjoyed sewing teddy bears and clothes for family and friends in her leisure time.
Surviving are daughters Pearl Joy (Norman) Swanson of Blooming Prairie, MN and Reta Fay Arney of Prescott, AZ. Also surviving are grandchildren Randy, Craig, Jeff and Mike Swanson of MN, Kim Swanson of CA, Melonie McKelvey of Lyndhurst, OH, Anita Russell of CA, and Krista Wright of Fremont, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brothers and sisters Ernest Hepperly, Stella Clark, Marietta Cockrell, Louis Hepperly and Lyle Hepperly.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service at the Fremont Baptist Temple with Rev. Jerry Kruchkow officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde. Memorials may be made in Lolas name to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
