Gibsonburg resident, Alice Maynard, age 76, died in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital in Fremont early Saturday morning, May 24.
Born in Gibsonburg on January 25, 1932, she was the daughter of Paul and Alice (Meyers) Humphrey. She attended Gibsonburg High School and the formerly Garfield Church of Christ in Gibsonburg. Alice was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed going to her familys baseball games, swimming at the Fremont YMCA and lunching with her lady friends. She belonged to two BUNCO clubs and spent time sewing, crafting, cooking for her family and feeding and watching her wild birds.
On May 28, 1948, she married Elza Maynard in Beauty, KY. He died on July 14, 1994. Surviving her are her children Lina (Joe) Huether, Gary (Joann), Randy (Thelma), Robert (Diana) all of Gibsonburg and Ora Jane (Bob) Hamilton of Lindsey, 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brother Robert (Pat) Humphrey of Virden, Ill. and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter and brothers Paul, George and Russell Humphrey.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 29, 10:30 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg. Rev. Scott Kirsch will officiate. Friends and family will be welcomed at the funeral home Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8.
Burial will be at West Union Cemetery.
