Sharon K. McDaniels

Sharon K. McDaniels, 60 of Gibsonburg, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born on February 16, 1946 in Port Clinton to Cloyce W. and Betty (Marsh) Phillips. Sharon was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School, and attended Davis Business College in Toledo, and on June 24, 1967 she married John W. McDaniels at the Church of the Nazarene in Risingsun, and he survives. Sharon worked for the Whirlpool Corporation for over 33 years as a plastics machine operator, and also owned and operated BJs crafts for 12 years. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of The New Life Community Church in Fremont. She was a Canon Master for the Virginia 9th Re-enactors, co-hosted the Fremont Television channel 21 Good Morning Fremont show as well as Sharons Place Television show. Sharon also taught Brazilian embroidery, and enjoyed sewing and crafts, playing the organ, violin and other various instruments and collected angels and carousels. She also played Daisy the clown, and loved her grandchildren. Surviving Sharon are her husband John W.; Children John JC Charles (Mary) McDaniels, Port Clinton, Jodie (Charles) Bender, Lindsey, Betty Jo (John) Helle, Gibsonburg, Sharon T. Susie (Tim) Strause, Gibsonburg and Robert (Marilyn) McDaniels, Fremont; Siblings, Charles (Judy) Phillips, Toledo, Kathy (Nelson) Boice, Tenn., Jonnie Phillips, Gibsonburg and Edward Phillips, St. Marys, OH; 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and her mother of Gibsonburg. Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Cloyce W. McDaniels, and her father. Visitation will be Saturday, June 3, 2006 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, June 4, 2006 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Ritter officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
