Fred Joseph Meyer, 62, of Fremont, died at his residence on Thursday, June 12, 2008. He was born on December 28, 1945 in Fremont to the now deceased Frederick Henry and Evelyn Jane (Sanders) Meyer. Fred was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a National Guard Veteran. He was the owner of Fritz Meyers Garage, and had also worked a few years at South Shore Trucking Company and most recently part time at C & W Auto Supply. Fred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Fremont Eagles and Golden Threads of Memorial Hospital. He loved sports car racing of any kind and his two dogs very much. Surviving are sister, Sharon Mulligan of Fremont; niece, Lisa Mulligan of Gibsonburg; nephew, Brian Mulligan of Adrian, MI; 4 grand nieces and 4 grand nephews; a daughter, Jodi Heslet; granddaughter, Kylie Heslet; grandson, Zachary Heslet and one great-grandchild all of Fremont; Visitation will be on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Quillen officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Clyde. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or to a charity of the Donors Choice.
