Elmer Harold Miarer, 97, of rural Fremont passed away peacefully at Countryside Continuing Care Center on Monday, October 16, 2006. He was born on January 30, 1909 on the family farm just west of Fremont to Philip Henry and Jenny Artilla (Reed) Miarer. Elmer married the late Viola Cora Smith of Fremont on August 11, 1930. He was a life-long farmer. He was a life-long member and a deacon of the Fremont First Presbyterian Church. Elmer is survived by his daughters, Marlene Elizabeth (William A.) Amor and Diane Sue (John G.) Roush, both of Fremont; five grandchildren, Amy Sue (Kent) Davidson of Bowling Green, Troy (Denise) and Kyle (Jody) Amor, both of Fremont, Andrew (Marianne) Roush of Carmel, IN, and Mathew (Lisa) Roush of Roxbury, CT; 12 great-grandchildren, Cody (Hayley) Amor, Amanda and Samantha Davidson, Kaylee, Kole, and Alyssa Amor and Noah, Meredith, Jack, Margaret, Henry and Katherine Roush; and one great-great-grandchild, Cyler Amor. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years Viola Cora (Smith) who passed on September 23, 1980; his three brothers, Raymond, Earl and Merl; and three infant children. Elmers life will be celebrated at a graveside ceremony in the Four-mile House Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, October 21 with the Reverend William McConnell of the Fremont First Presbyterian Church presiding. Memorials may be made to the Fremont First Presbyterian Church in Elmers name. Arrangements are being handled by Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont.
