Velma Miller

Velma Miller, 82, of Helena, died early Friday, March 7, 2008 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1925 in Genoa to the now deceased Fred and Helen (Landwehr) Obermyer. Velma attended Lemoyne School. On June 6, 1942, she married Howard A. Miller in Greenville, KY and he preceded her in death in 1999. Velma was the owner/operator of the H & V Trucking for 22 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg, enjoyed playing cards, fishing, crocheting and spending time at their cottage. Surviving are children, Jim Miller and Connie (William) Belcher both of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Melanie (Tyson) Smith, Melinda (Doug) Ottney, Scott Belcher, Andrew Miller & Dustin Miller and a brother, Raymond (Judy) Obermyer of Genoa. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Wayne & Howard Scott Miller, 2 sisters Gladys Eschedor and Eleanore Moenter and 2 brothers, Lowell and Delton Obermyer.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg at 11:00 AM with one hour of visitation prior to the services with Rev. Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a Zion Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice or to the charity of the donors choice in Velmas memory.
