Mary B. Minick, 90 formerly of Helena died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Kingston of Ashland. She was born on May 31, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert and Margaret (Watson) Minick. She graduated from Gibsonburg High School and St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.
Mary worked for Sandusky County Health Department, Fremont Memorial Hospital and for several area nursing homes, including Bethesda Care Center retiring in 1988. She served as a Red Cross volunteer and was a nurse during WWII. Mary was a member of Golden Threads, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.
Mary is survived by her brother; George Minick of Golden, CO, nieces; Mary Minick-Blake of Ashland, OH, Joan Minick of Melrose Park, IL, Carolyn Emanuel of Grand Junction, CO, Rene Brune of Spokane, WA, Allison Beck of Austin, TX and a nephew; Tom Minick of Marietta, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers; David & Ralph Minick.
Services and burial at North Union Cemetery will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in Marys memory.
