Gaylord R. Mooney, 89, of Fremont died Saturday afternoon at Countryside Continuing Care Center where he had been a resident for some time. He was born on August 11, 1913 in Fremont to Ralph and Matilda (Staschke) Mooney. Gaylord worked at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky for over 23 years as a buffer and polisher, retiring in 1975. He was also member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Fremont. On June 7, 1935 he married Edna Zeser in Indiana. She died on April 19, 1996. Surviving are his daughters, Janice Cowles of Wichita Falls, TX, Petty Lawrence of Massillion, OH, Rosalyn Bowers of Fremont; several grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepfather, Albert Wirick, son James Mooney and two brothers. Graveside services were private.
