John Jack C. Naylor, 81 of Fremont, died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. He was born on August 2, 1925 in Buena Vista, KY, in Garrard County to the now deceased John I. and Ollie (Scott) Naylor. John was married to Dorothy Hainje for 51 years and she survives. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII. John worked as a project engineer for Union Carbide in Kentucky, Fremont, Africa for 30 months then Rocky River, OH retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Western Square Dance Caller for over 48 years. John also enjoyed woodworking and mowing the yard. Surviving is a daughter Gwen (Robert) Nitschke of Clyde; six grandchildren, John (Georgie) Talbert, Tina (Bob) Roddy, Lonnie (Jayne), Stephen (Kelli), Shane (Allison) Nitschke and Robin (Bob) Cox; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie (Ray) Masser of FL, Esther (Corliss) Wiley and JoAnn (Carl) Spivey both of KY; several nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jackie Fulk and granddaughter, Jennifer Fulk; two sisters, Thelma Rubel and Dorothy Amstutz also precede him in death. Visitation will be on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH where Masonic Services will be that afternoon. Prayer services will be conducted by Pastor Denise Turpin at 8:00 p.m, that evening. Visitation will then be held at the Ramsey Funeral Home, 315 Richmond St, Lancaster, Kentucky on Friday 10 a.m.-noon, with funeral services beginning at noon. Final committal services with military rites will follow at Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster.
