Carlton L. Neeb, 87, of Gibsonburg, died early Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born on April 1, 1923 in Fremont to Julius and Louise (Keller) Neeb. Carlton attended Gibsonburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1945 to November 1946, receiving a WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. On July 3, 1948 he married Garland Swartzmiller and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2009. Carlton was a farmer and maintenance oiler at Kelsey Hayes retiring in 1988 after 41 years. After retiring from Kelsey Hayes, he continued farming. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Gibsonburg and the Gibsonburg American Legion.
Surviving are children, Lamar (Barb) of Fremont, Elane (Alfred) Reiter of Helena, Sharon (David) Bruce of Gibsonburg, Linda (Danny) Perkins of Fremont and Jay (Rachel) of Helena; twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a brother, Norman (Rosalie) Neeb of Helena. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Hilda Wright and a grandson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery with military rites provided by the Gibsonburg American Legion .
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice in Carltons memory.
