Donald H. Newton, 78 of Bettsville, died early Monday, January 3, 2011 at Physicians Choice Hospital in Fremont. He was born on November 27, 1932 in Deshler, OH to Harley and Viola (Weaver) Newton. Don was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. On May 31, 1980 he married Eloise Myers and she survives. Don was a press supervisor for 27 years at Moore Business Forms in Fremont. He loved working in the yard and using his John Deere, doing crossword puzzles, reading and camping with his kids.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Lisa Newton of Los Angeles, CA, Michael (Mary Katherine) of Oldenburg, IN, Bonnie (Dave) Fintel of Custar, OH, Julie (Doug) Smith of Boise, ID, Terry (Tina) Myers of Fremont, Larry (Diane) Myers of Bettsville and Chris (Delfina) Myers of Maryland Heights, MO; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Charlie) Eisenhart of Perry, OH also survives. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence Newton.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with one half hour of visitation prior to the service. Jim Gippert will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bettsville Fire Department in Dons memory.
