Phyllis A. Foster Ottney, 73, of Gibsonburg, died early Saturday morning at Fremont Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tiffin to the now-deceased Samuel and Helen (Coe) Brown. On Dec. 30, 1987 she married Lawrence Ottney in Florida and he survives in Gibsonburg. Phyllis graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1949. After high school she worked for Dr. Miller and Dr. Overberg as their assistant. She was a very active member of AA for 30 years where she was well thought of. She was also a member of the Fremont Moose. Phyllis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg. She is survived by stepdaughter Kathy (Mark) Garner; granddaughter Rachel Garner; brother William "Bill" (Rita) Brown, and Howard (Mary Ann) Brown all of Gibsonburg, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded by brothers, Donald, Vernon and Kenneth Brown, grandchildren, Mark L. and Justin Garner; and her parents. Visitation: 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Herman-Kinn- Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Fritz Merkes officiating. Burial: Graham Cemetery, Wayne. Memorials: to the family or donor's choice.
