Elaine M Overmyer

Elaine M. Overmyer, 92, formerly of Lindsey, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born on March 27, 1915 near Stoutsville, Ohio, Fairfield County to the now deceased George F. and Cora D. (Ross) Marshall. Elaine graduated from Stoutsville High School and attended North Central College, Naperville, IL and received a B.S. in Education Degree from Bowling Green State University. She did graduate work at Ohio State University and taught for 33 years in the Washington Township/Lindsey Elementary School. On September 5, 1942 she married Arden Spot Overmyer in Lindsey and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1975. Elaine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey, the Sandusky County Retired Teachers and Ohio Retired Teachers. She was a Jennings Scholar. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 466, Perrysburg Chapter and a previous member of the now closed Elmore Chapter O.E.S. 306 for many years, serving in several offices including Worthy Matron and received the 60 Years pin from the Perrysburg Chapter. Elaine was an avid reader, loved music and sports.

Surviving are her children, Stephen Overmyer of Stoutsville, Ohio and Marsha Overmyer of Lindsey, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Ross and Lyle Marshall; 2 sisters, Beatrice and Agnes Marshall.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 7th from 1-2 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday with Maureen Pump officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sandusky County Health Dept., c/o Home Health Program, 2000 Countryside Dr., Fremont, OH 43420.
