LeRoy Roy Overmyer, 59, of Fremont died suddenly at his residence Sunday morning, June 12. He was born on November 3, 1945 to Donald R. and Susanne (Smith) Overmyer in Fremont. Roy was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a maintenance man at Whirlpool Corp. for 41 years; he also concurrently worked at Carbo Forge in maintenance for the last 20 years. In August 1965 he married Martha Darr and she survives. Roy was a member of St. Ann Catholic Community, Fremont FFA, former member of the Whirlpool Mixed Doubles and Welcome Wagon Mixed Doubles Bowling Leagues. He was an avid boater and fisherman, and he enjoyed NASCAR especially Rusty Wallace. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and Marfys Kids very much. Also surviving are two sons, Michael and Daniel (Dianne), of Fremont, grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Jonathan, Kristen, great-grandson, Austin, his parents, brothers Vincent (Vicki) of Fremont, William (Dana) of Willard, Gary (Debbie) of Clyde, Carl (Cheryl) of Las Crusas, NM, sister, Brenda Schwochow, Fremont. Roy is preceded in death by his in-laws, Peter & Frances (Golebiowski) Darr. Visitation will be on Wednesday, 1-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn- Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion/VFW.
