Mary Lois Overmyer, 80, formerly of S. Maple Street, Lindsey and more recently of Parkside Manor of Fremont, died Wednesday night, May 18, 2005 after sudden complications at the Memorial Hospital in Fremont.
She was born on January 31, 1925 in Fremont to Harry and Grace (Houtz) Carnicom. Mary Lois graduated with her Green Springs High School class and married Russell Overmyer in 1943 at the former St. Pauls Church in Fremont. Russell died April 18, 1991.
Mary Lois worked at the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fremont Post as a dispatcher. She retired in 1988 after 20 years of service. A member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Fremont, Mary enjoyed working with ceramics, playing pinochle with her six couple card club for over 35 years and she also belonged to the Ohio Child Conservation League.
Surviving her is her son Keith (Teresa) Overmyer of Jacksonville, Florida, daughter Kay (Kenneth) Tyson of Peoria, Arizona, sister Ruth Ann (Roger) Stout of Fremont, four grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Her husband, brothers Dwight Carnicom and twin brothers Sherman and Shelman and grandson Christian Frederick precede her in death.
Funeral services will be at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Karl Ribbeck officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 10:30.
Private burial ceremonies will be held later at the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Social Services, Faith Lutheran Church, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
