Leona E. Perry, 95 of Fremont, died Friday afternoon at Valley View Health Care Center, Fremont. She was born on September 6, 1911 in Gibsonburg to the now-deceased Clarence W. and Anna (Schumacher) Burkett. Leona married Charles L. Myers and he died in 1974. Later she married Frank Perry and he died in 1998. She worked as a machine operator at the Fremont Paper Box Company for 10 years. Leona was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, and the VFW Auxiliary, Fremont. She enjoyed embroidery, reading and crocheting.
Surviving are her daughters, Patricia (William) Forsyth and Sharon Radwan, both of Fremont; son-in-law; James Busdecker of Fremont 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, sister, Clara Schlea and sister-in-law, Ruth Burkett both of Gibsonburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter Audrey Busdecker, 3 brothers, Luther Tudie Burkett, Paul Jim Burkett and Clarence (Junior) Burkett.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 7 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Tuesday at the funeral home at 1p.m. with Pastor Robert Quillen officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
