Former Fremont resident, Margaret Maggie J. Pitchford, 75, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007. She was born on November 29, 1931 in Homestead, PA. Maggie graduated with her high school class in Homestead, PA. On March 5, 1950 she married William Pitchford in Pittsburgh, PA and he preceded her in 1979. Maggie worked as a clerk and letter carrier for the Fremont Post Office, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont. Maggie was a homemaker and loving mother. She loved boating on Lake Erie enjoyed pets and bowling on the Thursday night league.
Surviving are her children, Sandra (David) Childers of Castalia, William Larry (Katrina Kat) of Clyde, Michael (Debra) and David (Cindy) both of Fremont; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harry Sonny (Carol) Lutz of Library, PA.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 20 from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Dr. Steven Jackson for his care of Maggie.
