Rocky M. Polter, 47, formerly of Fifth St., Fremont, died Monday at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. He was born on December 18, 1958 to Henry and Joan (Weber) Polter in Fremont. Rocky graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1976. He worked as a machinist at Whirlpool until the onset of his illness in October 2005. Rocky was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Fremont. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his brothers. Surviving are his mother of Fremont, brothers David (Cathy) of Hampshire, OH and Victor Polter of Fremont; nieces, Tanya Haverfield, Michelle Polter; great niece, Bethany and great nephew, Jorden. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Seibel officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Clyde. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
