Joan G. Pump, 73, of Fremont died surrounded by her family on Friday morning, January 6, at the Countryside Continuing Care Center in Fremont.
Joan was born on June 19, 1932 in Willard, OH to Joseph and Olivia Theresa (Crist) Cooper. She attended Fremont Ross High School and worked as a dietary supervisor and cook at the St. Bernadine Home in Fremont for over 12 years. A homemaker, Joan enjoyed cooking and baking, camping and spending time with her eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
On April 22, 1950, she married her husband of fifty five years, Haldon Pump at the First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Fremont by the Rev. George Wayman. Haldon survives.
Also surviving Joan are her four daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Harrison of Bettsville, Virginia Pump of Fremont, Judy (George) Balderama of Fostoria and Tina Pump of Fremont, sister Mary Good of Fremont, brother William (Eunice) Cooper of Green Springs, sister in law Judy Cooper of California and several nieces and nephews.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, step father Charles Barnes, brother Thomas Cooper, sister Pheobe (Tony) Webb and brother in law, Danny Good.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
Contributions in Joans memory may be made to the activities department of Countryside Continuing Care Center, the American Diabetes Association or to the American Kidney Foundation. Arrangements were made thru the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
