Alfred J. Reimer

Alfred J. Reimer, 98, formerly of Gibsonburg, died Sunday afternoon at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon. He was born on November 28, 1906 in Woodville to Christian & Sophia (Roecker) Reimer. On October 12, 1940 he married Ruth Shull at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg and she died on March 31, 1991. Alfred was a farmer most of his life and also worked for Gibsonburg Lime and Atlas Industries retiring in 1976. He was a life member of the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are children; Leland (Claudia) Reimer of Helena and Patricia (Ray) Beck of Bloomdale, five grandchildren; Eric, Terry, Heather, Janelle and Brianne, along with five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters; Alvina Kinker and Esther Minse, one grandson; Justin and his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg with funeral services on Thursday 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, the Gibsonburg Fire Dept. or the donors choice.
