Life-long Gibsonburg resident Lois M. Rhoda, age 86, died on Saturday evening, March 29th at the Memorial Hospital in Fremont. She was born on March 5, 1922 in Washington Township, rural Lindsey, Ohio to the now deceased Howard W. and Viola M. (Brocksieker) Reed.
Lois graduated from Fremont Ross High School, Class of 1940. On November 26, 1942 she married Dale Rhoda at Salem Lutheran Church. He died July 25, 1990. Lois was a loving farm wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fremont and the Sandusky County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are daughters, Donna (Larry) Leow of Gibsonburg, Pat (Ken) Holcomb of Sunnyvale, CA; grandchildren Rob (Tara) Holcomb of Sunnyvale, CA, Rick (Amy) Holcomb of Chesapeake, VA, Kelly Holcomb of Mayfield Village, OH and Mike Leow of Clifton, NJ; and great-grandson Matthew Holcomb, Sunnyvale, CA.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be on Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the Faith Lutheran Church where there will be an additional hour of visitation before the funeral. Pastor Robert Young will officiate. Burial will be at Four Mile House Cemetery.
