James Ritter, 58 of Burgoon, passed away suddenly Friday, October 17, 2008. Jim was a graduate of Lakota High School, and attended Ohio State University, where he received his Bachelor Degree in science & agriculture education. He worked as an agronomist for the Sunrise Corporation. He was a representative of the Sandusky County Board of Education, and a member of the 4-Given Quartet. He was active in the Old Fort United Methodist Church and the Emmaus community. James enjoyed hunting , fishing, sports and was an OSU fan.
James is survived by his wife Lynn (Calhoun); children: Virginia of Jupiter, FL, Marcus (Jillian) of Indianapolis, IN, and Scott (Anna) of Dallas, TX; siblings, Ann Ireland of Fremont, Earl and Tom Ritter of Grayling, MI, Jane Cruz of Lebanon, Linda Mutchler of Fremont, Sue Shrider of Upper Sandusky and Raymond Ritter of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert E. and Romayne E. (Stout) Ritter and stepson, Edison Blackford.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 5-8p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Old Fort United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Following the service there will be a gathering to celebrate his life at the Nature Trails Golf Course, Bettsville.
Memorials may be made to Cherry Street Mission, Toledo.
