Theresa L. Ruiz, 92, of Fremont died Thursday morning in Fremont. She was born in Mexico City to Santiago and Maria (Garcia) Lona. Theresa came to the United States at the age of 5. She attended school in Midland, PA, and has been living in Fremont since 1928. Theresa married Aurelio Ruiz Nov. 26, 1928, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Fremont and he died Dec. 4, 1995. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Community and was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting and taking care of her rose garden. Surviving Theresa are sons, Francisco and Clarence of Fremont, Antonio of Denver, CO, Jose and Aurelio of Fremont; daughters, Connie Woodel and Mary A. Rios of Fremont, Mary E. Gamble of Mariposa, CA and Juanita Rodriguez, Delores Wampler, Lucy Jacobs and Rosemary Jackson, all of Fremont; 41 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; and brother, Al Lona of Midland, PA. She was preceded by her parents, husband, sons, Juan and Jesse and an infant son; and brothers, Lawrence and Santiago Lona. Visitation: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services: Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Ceranowski officiating. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery Memorials: To St. Ann Catholic Community or the Easter Seals.
