Donald L. Sachs

Donald L. Sachs, 78, of Fremont died Saturday evening at home. He was born in Fremont to the now-deceased Carl and Hazel (Huber) Sachs. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard a LCI in the South Pacific. On April 25, 1948, he married the former Joan Damschroder in Fremont and she survives. Also surviving are children, Sandra (Robert)Wagner of Fremont, Sharon (Rick) Thralls of Waynesburg, PA and Scott (Diane) Sachs of Houston, TX; brothers, Howard (Mary) Sachs of Fremont and Carl (Polly) Sachs of Moreno Valley, CA; grandchildren, Kathy Jo, Kevin, Marc, Kara, Sarah, Cora and Wesley, three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. He is preceded by his parents, brother, Willian Sachs and sister, Marian Mays. Visitation was on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Services were held on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was at McGormley Cemetery with military rites.
