Dorothy Ann Sachs, 75 of Fremont died Sunday afternoon at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 14, 1931 in Port Clinton to the now deceased Fred and Erva (Miller) Meyer. Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Port Clinton High School and attended the University of Toledo. On October 20, 1951 she married William W. Sachs and he died February 4, 1999. Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 50 years, and Junquindendah Farm Council for over 50 years. She enjoyed card clubs, was a 4-H advisor for ten years, taught Sunday School, was a past Church Council member, belonged to a Couples Group at Church and most recently volunteered at Share & Care, known to many as the Shoe Lady. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Dorothy was a homemaker. Surviving are children Barb (Timothy) Stout of Perrysburg, David (Lisa) of Fremont, James (Shelia) of Marblehead, Dan (Carol) of Perrysburg and John (Deb) of Fremont; Sixteen grandchildren; brother, Richard Meyer of Port Clinton and sister, Marilyn Rosebrock of Rossford, OH.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the services at church. Certified Celebrant Maureen Pump will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Share & Care, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or Grace Lutheran Church in Dorothys name.
