Viola Sarah Schepflin

Viola Sarah (Kranz) Schepflin, 84 of Fremont, died Friday morning, October 21, 2005 at Heartland of Perrysburg. She was born on August 31, 1921 in Gibsonburg to Arthur J. and Lucinda S. (Linkey) Kranz. Viola was a 1940 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and on May 7, 1944 she married Carl Samuel Schepflin. He died on March 31, 1979. Viola was a homemaker and office clerk for Dr. Kreilick. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida and Virginia during his military time. Viola assisted her husband, Carl who was president and manager of The Modern Construction Co. for many years. Viola was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Church Council, Altar Guild, Fremont Federation of Women, Rutherford B. Hayes Historical Society, Catawba Island Club and Emblem Club. She was a very caring, loving and charitable person to everyone who knew her. Her friends received great support from her over the years and admired and respected her for her quiet strength and faithful spirit. She loved to play Bridge and Pinochle. The family would like to acknowledge with gratitude for the support and guidance of friends and family and professionals from MUO, Heartland and Hospice of Northwest Ohio during Violas final journey. Surviving are daughters Linda (Randy) Hottinger of Perrysburg, Carol (Jim Troyer) Prosser of Ottawa; grandchildren, Sarah Lucinda Hottinger of Toledo, Carla Sue (Joshua Kaiser) Hottinger of Perrysburg, Kurt Schepflin (Katie Simonton) Prosser of Chicago, Michelle Cara (Grant Hoerig) Prosser of Bowling Green, brother, Leonard (Audrey) Kranz of Naples, FL and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Gruetter officiating, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or donors choice.
