Homer W. Seibert, 87 of Fremont died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Parkview Care Center, Fremont. He was born on December 11, 1917 in the home he resided in Washington Twp to Ralph & Sara (Bolen) Seibert. Homer graduated from Ross High School in 1935, where he was one of the first FFA students to receive the State Farmers Degree. He was a lifelong farmer raising turkeys, dairy and general farming along with selling seed. On June 21, 1940 he married Esther E. Avers at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rice Twp. Homer was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he served on church council holding various offices, also volunteering at Share and Care. He was a member of the Sandusky County Farm Bureau, Buckaroo Council and Sandusky County Historical Society. The Sandusky County Farm Bureau honored him as Retired Farmer of the Year in 1999. Homer is survived by his wife of 65 years, two sons; William (Ruth) Seibert of Lindsey, and Pastor Henry (Becky) Seibert of Fremont, 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 2-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church at 11 AM with additional visitation one hour prior to the services at church. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to the donors choice.
