Grace Elizabeth Shetenhelm, 85, of Fremont, died Wednesday morning at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. She was born on October 21, 1920 in Fremont to the now deceased Frank and Amelia (Ohms) Shiets. Grace attended Faust School in Riley Township and Ross High School. On June 11, 1940 she married W. Cecil Shetenhelm at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Fremont. He died July 10, 1990. Grace was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, and an honorary member of the Soroptimist Club. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and fishing. Grace was the bookkeeper and Co-Owner of C & W Auto Supply.
Surviving is a son, Michael (Cheryl) of Fremont; grandchildren, Crystal (Erik) Luse of Delaware, Michelle (Don) Sichling of Cedar Lake, IN, Mark Shetenhelm of Fremont; great grandchildren, Courtney and Carly Luse; sisters, Glady Sterling, Iva (Richard) Baker, Agnes Willis, Lois Shiets and Ruth (Duane) Erb all of Fremont. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Cleo Shiets.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, where additional visitation will be held from 9 10 a.m. Pastor Stephen Seibel will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
