Emery C. Shively,77, of Patterson St., Gibsonburg, died Tuesday at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon. He was born in Fremont to Clarence and Bertha (Taulker) Shively. Emery served with the U.S.Army during WWII in Europe. On June 4, 1949, he married Florence Van Ness at Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg and she survives. Emery wa employed as a machine operator and began working a the Ohio Lime Co. of Woodville. He had also worked as a carpenter and retired from the Chrysler Corp. in 1987 after 17 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, James (Susan), Gary (Pam) and John (Treva), all of Gibsonburg; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister Lucille Nehls of Hessville. He is preceded by his parents, brother Ervin and sister Mildred Schneider. Visitation: 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., Friday, Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Blair Miller and Rev. Robert Wiettleman officiating. His body will lie in state one hour before the services.
