Cora G. (Fought) Shoup, 86, of Cole Road, Fremont, died Friday at the Toledo Hospital. She was born in Rice Township to William and Anna (Bearass) Fought. She married Conrad E. Shoup on Oct. 17, 1947, and he survives. Cora worked at the Christy Co. during and after World War II. She enjoyed camping with the Toledo 39ers and friends. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical (United Methodist) Church, where she had been very active since childhood. She also was a member of the Portage Valley Flying Club and Sandusky County Restorers of Antique Power. Cora loved to bake cookies and pies and found joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother. Also surviving are children, Karen (Charles) Harris, William Bill (Sandy) Shoup and Constance Connie (Philip) Klausz, all of Fremont; grandchildren, Angela (Shoup) Hursh, Matthew Shoup, Kellie (Klausz) Poole, Lori (Klausz) Halsey and Kathryn (Harris) Moore; great-grandchildren, Lily Ana and Elizabeth Hursh, Cyle, Amber and Dustin Poole, Hannah and Jordan Halsey, and Katelyn Moore. Cora is preceded by her parents, sister, Marian Nickel and brothers, Laurel and Vance Fought. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lowell Peterson officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials: To the church or Camp Sabroske, Oak Harbor.
