Emma Naomi Smith

E. Naomi Smith, 91, of Gibsonburg, died Monday afternoon at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born on Sept. 2, 1914 in Wayne, Ohio to Edward and Goldie (Edgar) Carr. On May 6, 1932 she married Kenneth A. Smith in Jerry City, Ohio. He passed away Dec. 30, 1995. Naomi is survived by son Roger W. (Barbara) Smith of Fremont, six grandchildren, Holly (Stephen) Kromer, Kim (Mark) Collins, Kevin (Denise) Smith, Keith Smith, Ryan Smith, Andrea (Lawrence) Thurston, 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren; brother, Keith (Ruby) Carr of Gibsonburg and two half-sisters. She is preceded in death by a great granddaughter, a sister, 4 brothers and 2 half-brothers.

Naomi was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and Gibsonburg Order of Eastern Star. She was employed at Gibsonburg Canning Co. and retired from Yerges Mfg. Company in 1976.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9-11 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jerel Jackson officiating. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gibsonburg Library or donors choice.
