Ruth M. Smith

Ruth M. Smith 94 formerly of Gibsonburg died Monday, March 3, 2008 in Gahanna, Ohio. She was born on March 29, 1913 in Gibsonburg to Edward & Florence (Schaeffer) Burkett. Ruth attended Gibsonburg School and was a housewife. She was a former member of the Garfield Memorial Church of Christ in Gibsonburg. On November 26, 1931 she married Harold L. Smith in Fostoria and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1979. Ruth loved making quilts and would have a groups come to her home to quilt. She is survived by her daughters; Norma Smith Schuster of Genoa and Jo Ann (Dale) Smith Zwicker of Gahanna, OH. She also is survived by her grandchildren; Steven (Mindy) Schuster of Millbury, Michael Schuster of Genoa, Jeffrey (Kay) Zwicker of Reynoldsburg, and Pamela (Chris) Young of Westerville, along with her great-grandchildren; Austin, Vanessa Young, Morgan (Bryan) White, Step grandson Scott and Natalie Zwicker. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers; Merritt, Earl, Harold and James Burkett and sister; Hazel Hablitzel.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Rev. Linda Nanninga officiating. Burial will follow at W. Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
