Herbert R. Sneider

Herbert R. Sneider, 73, of Helena, died on December 27, 2009 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Helena, OH to Herbert G. and Catherine (Kirsch) Sneider. Herbert was a 1954 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and attended the ITI of Chicago School of Electronics. He was a lifelong farmer and also owned/operated Sneider TV Sales and Service. On August 10, 1957 he married Patricia Welter and she survives. Herbert was a Jr. Baseball Assn. coach, a member of the Gibsonburg Elevator Board and a 4-H advisor. He was an active member of the Helena VFD for 56 years earning the Fremont Exchange Clubs Firefighter of The Year Award.

Surviving are children, Barbara Jones of Perrysburg, Brian (Audrey) Sneider of Gibsonburg, Dr. Kevin (Peggy) Sneider of Port Clinton, Mark (Michelle) Sneider of Sumter, SC and Stephen (Holly) Sneider of Milan; siblings, Mary Rellinger of Fremont, Rita (Ronald) Gosche of Fostoria and Virginia (James) Hull of Kansas, OH; fourteen grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial donations may be made in Herberts memory to the Helena Community Volunteer Fire Department or to the HCVFD Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Faith United Methodist Church, Gibsonburg at 10:30 with Rev. Jerel Jackson and Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will be held at W. Union Cemetery.
