Harry Stevens

Harry Stevens, 95 of Gibsonburg, died early Monday morning, April 23, 2007 at Windsor Lane Health Care Center, Gibsonburg. He was born on December 15, 1911 in Roann, IN to the now deceased Harry & Katie (Mabus) Stevens. Harry was a Hydrator Operator at the former Kelly Island Lime Plant which became the former Pfizer Lime Plant, retiring in June 1973. On December 12, 1931 he married Gertrude Eileen Taylor in Bowling Green, OH. She died August 12, 2000. Harry loved to tinker and was a Blue Grass Musician. He was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and enjoyed gardening, bird watching and playing cards.

Surviving are children, Richard L. (Rose ) of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley A. Adams of Genoa, OH, James L. ( Marilyn) of Gibsonburg, Kay M. (Todd) Vance of Helena, Karen J. (Charlie) Peck of Gibsonburg, Larry L. of Ft. Myers, FL, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Harold and Alfred, sisters Laura Young, Mabel Saba & Rosa Young; 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 step great-grandchild and 1 step great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Schwochow officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gibsonburg Youth Baseball or Softball, Gibsonburg High School Baseball or Softball Booster Organization or Green Creek Wildlife Society in Harrys name.
