Mary Stover, 80, of Fremont, died on Monday at Elmwood in Green Springs, OH. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Huron County, OH to the now deceased Linus and Margret (Gerber) Shank. Mary attended Attica High School and the Toledo Hair Academy. On April 19, 1947, she married Alvin F. (Al) Stover and he preceded her in death in January 1994. In her earlier years she was employed with the Shelby Depot, Attica Caf and Dons Diner. Mary was a beautician and also was the bookkeeper for Al Stover Garage from 1961-1988. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont, CFM, the Altar Rosary Society, Golden Threads, Thornwood Golf League, Board of Elections, Ohio Child Conservation League, and the Eagles. Mary enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, camping, fishing and traveling.

Surviving are children: Timothy Tim (Delores) Deb Stover, Jill (David) Bauer both of Fremont; Nicholas Nick (Michelle) Shelley Stover of Marblehead and Jane (Jim) Fawley of Fremont; grandchildren, Landen Stover, Sherri Price, Gerri Kay Benton, Allison Brickley, Geoff Bauer, Amy Bauer, Andrea Bauer, Nicole McDonald, David Stover, Rachel Stover, Jason Fawley, Josh Fawley & Jessica Fawley; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Betty (Bill) Beaston of Fostoria, Melvin (Ree) Shank of Tallahassee, FL, Richard Dick (Jeanne) Shank of Delta, UT, and Bruce (Bonnie) Shank of Fremont. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Jennifer Fawley in 2000 and great-grandson, Samual Stover in 2003; sister, Jane Wahl and brother, William Ronald Shank.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 27th from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A wake service will be held on Thursday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at Sacred Heart Church after the burial. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
