Paul Leroy Thurston, 83, of Evansville, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Golden Living Woodlands Convalescent Center in Newburgh, IN. He was born on February 26, 1926 in Gibsonburg, OH to the late William Leroy Thurston and Myrtle M. (Wohlmuth) Thurston Keller. Paul graduated from Fremont Ross High School, Fremont, Ohio. He served his country as an Army Staff Sergeant in the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he attended and graduated from Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio. Paul worked for several years in family businesses and later joined McIntyres Mini Computers in Troy, MI and retired as Vice President of Finance. Paul loved music and in his later years was a country fan. He enjoyed his retirement years wintering in Florida playing golf, living the summer months in Troy, MI until his move to Evansville in 2003. Paul was a kind and loving son, brother, uncle and nephew. He was the family caretaker always giving of himself. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Paul was preceded in death by his brother Robert Ray Thurston. He is survived by his sisters, Edna M. Meeks and Barbara Jean (Jack) Turpin both of Evansville, IN; nieces, Dianna J. Zullo of Bakersfield, CA, Jennifer A. (Daren J.) Mitchner of Newburgh, IN; nephews, Robert (Connie) Meeks of Pitman, NJ, Paul Meeks of CA, Thomas (Darla) Turpin of Evansville, IN; three great-nieces, Carolyn Zullo, Anna Turpin and Lauren Stevens; great-nephews, Joseph (Christine) Zullo, Aaron Meeks and Andrew Turpin; great-great nephew, Joey Zullo. Also surviving is his uncle, Clinton Wohlmuth of Indianapolis, IN; cousins, Virginia (Jim) Shelt and Carol (Rick) Warren all of Rossford, OH, Larry (Karen) Wohlmuth, Terry Wohlmuth of MI and Cheryl Wohlmuth of Indianapolis, IN, Forest Barnhart of IN and Esther Eichelberger of OH. The family wishes to thank the people who cared for Paul at Reliable Adult Day Care, Golden Living Convalenscent Center Woodlands and Asera Care Hospice.

Visitation will be at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Monday, July 13, 2009 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Services at 12 noon with Pastor William McConnell officiating. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg with military rites performed by the Gibsonburg American Legion.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Evansville, Reliable Adult Day Care of Evansville or Asera Care Hospice of Newburgh.
