Gibsonburg resident and businessman, Thomas J. Tille, died Monday evening, December 22, at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was 66.
Tom was born in Fremont on August 3, 1942 to the now late Edward and Helen (Clink) Tille. He graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1960 and later served in the Army National Guard. Tom is best known in the community for his long time work and business in concrete construction based in Gibsonburg. He has been named as an Honorary Gibsonburg Volunteer Fireman and has been involved with the development and promotion of the Gibsonburg Veterans Memorial. He was a member of the Gibsonburg Businessmens Association and belonged to the Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg.
On December 13, 1997 he married Linda Shoemaker at their Gibsonburg home. She survives. Also surviving are children Marla (Brad) Hamons of Fremont, Michael, Matt (Annette) and Mark all of Gibsonburg; step children Josh (Andrea) Henline of Rossford and Rachel (Jim) Auld of Gibsonburg; grandchildren Mallory, Hannah, Matthew, Marcus, Mitchell and Mason and step grandchildren Jacob, Julia and Jonathan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene.
Funeral services will be at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg on Sunday, December 28, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Karl Ribbeck will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-8 with the family being present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Burial will be at West Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gibsonburg Veterans Memorial or the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department.
