Carl E. wammes, Jr. 69 of Fremont and recently of Stafford, OH died Thursday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on February 28, 1932 in Fremont to Carl wammes, Sr. and Florence Kline. Carl attended the St. Joseph Catholic Schools and Church in Fremont. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a life member of the Fremont VFW, Fremont American Legion, Moose, Eagles and Coon Creek Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, golf and traveling. Throughout his life, Carl was employed at Mosser Construction. During the 1970's Carl owned and operated wammes Decorative Stone and Marble Company in Fort Pierce and stuart Fl. More recently he rejoined Mosser and its Peerless Division and worked as a general field superintendent for years. His job involved the repair and building of hundreds of highway bridges all over Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Surviving him is his wife, Pearl E. Holland, whom he married on January 26, 1967 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Fremont. Also surviving is son, Ed Holland of Fremont; brothers, Paul and Earl of Fremont; sisters, Margaret Gearhart, Marie Wagner both of Fremont, Edith Overmyer of Lindsey and Ruth Ann Hill of Risingsun; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Merle and Bernard and a great granddaughter.
