Norman E. Wells, 91 a longtime resident of CR 41, Helena, died Thursday afternoon at St. Catherines Care Center in Fostoria. He was born on May 26, 1914 in Curtice, OH to John and Frieda (Berger) Wells. On September 7, 1933 he married Chloe Ames in Curtice, OH and she died July 17, 2001. Norman was a lifelong farmer and member of the Sandusky County Farm Bureau. A jack of all trades, he enjoyed helping people with their odd jobs. He was a pleasant man always looking to humor everyone.
Surviving are children Genniel (Jim) Steinmetz, Rollind (Claryce) Wells, Leonard (Marvis) Wells all of Helena, Ruth (Donald) Davies of Gibsonburg, 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one granddaughter & 2 great-granddaughters; sisters, Nellie Carter and Della Huss.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Becky Schofield officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, Helena or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
